I Live Here, I Give Here’s mission is to deepen and expand the culture of personal philanthropy by inspiring Central Texans to invest more money in our community. We educate and connect individuals and non-profits so more Central Texans experience the personal benefit of increased philanthropy.

Did you know that according to a study done by The Chronicle of Philanthropy in 2012, Austin is ranked 32nd out of the 50 largest cities in the nation in per capita charitable giving? This is a big improvement over our ranking at the beginning of the 21st century when we ranked 48, but there is still a lot of room for growth!

Austin is a vibrant city with a personality all its own. Central Texans are passionate, driven, and generous volunteers of their time and talent. But that’s not enough. The biggest problem facing Austin Nonprofits is there is not enough money.

Our community is well known for cherishing its environment and local businesses, its time to nurture our home-grown nonprofits in the same way!

We depend on our nonprofits to meet so many of the Austin's most basic needs; but the shortage of funds for these organizations is creating large gaps in services.

This is where I Live Here, I Give Here steps in. Our main purpose is to connect people like YOU with the issues you care about and the Nonprofits that support them.

I Live Here, I Give Here is proud of the work we have accomplished since our launch in 2007. We connect the people of Austin with the causes they care about.

We partner with nonprofit groups so they can be more accessible to you. We spotlight specific needs in Austin every month to let you know how you can help.

Faith in Action Caregivers Northwest

Neighbor helping senior Neighbor! Faith in Action Caregivers Northwest serves senior adults in Northwest Austin, Cedar Park and Leander with free services to allow them to stay living independently longer. As transportation to and from medical appointments, grocery stores, etc. is the most requested service by our senior neighbors, we can offer the most flexible volunteer opportunity around! With an easy online scheduling system, volunteers can choose drives that fits their available time. One drive a month is a big help! We also offer a twice a month Senior Day Out program for our clients to come together and socialize, share a lunch and enjoy a few hours away from home with other clients and volunteers.

Faith in Action Caregivers-West Austin

In operation since 1985, our mission continues to be the enhancement of independence of older adults. This is accomplished by providing volunteer-based services, which include: transportation to medical appointments and other health related services, grocery shopping and to the bank as essential needs. Additionally, volunteers take the elderly clients to destinations adding to quality of life such as the beauty shop, senior center or to a friend's house for a visit. Social contact is important to combat loneliness for the older adult clients, so volunteers serve as friendly visitors in the home or by making reassuring phone calls. Volunteers also do minor home repair and maintenance to provide a safe home environment.

Faith in Action Senior Access

Faith in Action Caregivers offers services to help older adults in maintaining and improving their quality of life. With the assistance of volunteer caregivers, clients can maximize their ability to meet their own needs and to continue to live independently.

Greater Austin CARES

We are a group of faith-based respite programs for people with dementia and their families.  Each program is a ministry of its host organization, and serves both memory-impaired individuals and their caregivers. Respite participants enjoy socially-enriching and fun activities while their caregivers take a break from caregiving responsibilities.

Greater Austin Life-Changing Ministries

Greater Austin Life-Changing Ministries is a unique ministry directly involved in an outreach to Nursing/Alzheimer/Assisted-living homes that includes 25 monthly group meetings with 400+ residents. Important statistic: 60% of Nursing home residents never receive visitors. We strive to rekindle hope with songs, hugs, and to remind residents of their importance in life.
